Thonny

Python IDE for beginners

Development

Not tested on a device yet. What that means

Thonny in Breadstick

Breadstick runs Debian's own thonny package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so Thonny should look and behave as it does on a Linux PC. On Samsung DeX, Floating mode opens it as its own window beside your Android apps, and Desktop mode runs it on a full Linux desktop.

Compilers and interpreters run on the device's own ARM64 processor, while containers and virtual machines, which need a kernel of their own, cannot run. More about development tools in Breadstick.

About Thonny

From the project's description

Thonny is a simple Python IDE with features useful for learning programming. It comes with a debugger which is able to visualize all the conceptual steps taken to run a Python program (executing statements, evaluating expressions, maintaining the call stack). There is a GUI for installing 3rd party packages and special mode for learning about references.

See the homepage for more information, screenshots and a walk-through video.
