Linux development tools for Android and Samsung DeX

Code editors, IDEs, version control, debuggers and other tools for building software. 202 development tools in the catalog: 110 desktop apps, most used first; 91 terminal and command line programs, by what they are for; and Visual Studio Code, from its maker.

Linux development tools in Breadstick

Compilers, interpreters and version control run on the device's own ARM64 processor, from Debian's own packages, as on a Linux workstation. Keep projects in your Linux home folder: it is much faster than Android's shared folders for builds and repositories with many small files. Tools that need their own kernel, such as containers and virtual machines, cannot run, and big IDEs start many processes, which counts against the limit Android puts on apps. More in the docs: Troubleshooting: the desktop closes on its own.

Tested on a device: Python, GDB (GNU Debugger), MariaDB Server, Redis, strace and Valgrind.

From their makers

Not in Debian: Breadstick's Recommended apps screen sets these up from their makers' own signed repositories.
