Linux apps for Android and Samsung DeX

Breadstick runs real Debian Linux on your Android phone or tablet, with no root, and each Linux app can open as its own window on Samsung DeX. This catalog lists 1,812 apps and tools from Debian 13 (trixie), which every new Breadstick install runs: 1,580 desktop apps, 230 terminal and command line programs, and Visual Studio Code and Google Chrome from their makers' own repositories. The ones we have tested on a real device are marked.

From their makers

Not in Debian: Breadstick's Recommended apps screen sets these up from their makers' own signed repositories.

Terminal and developer tools

Command line programs and interactive terminal apps from Debian 13: language runtimes, compilers, version control, servers, databases and everyday tools. They run in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop.

What the statuses mean

Tested
Someone ran the app in Breadstick on a real Android device and saw it work. The app's page shows the device, the Android version, the date and what was seen.
Not tested yet
The app is available for ARM64, in Debian 13 or from its maker, and nothing we know of stops it working, but nobody has checked it on a device for this catalog yet.

Apps that cannot work in Breadstick are left out: ones that need USB hardware, a VPN tunnel of their own, virtualization, kernel modules, raw disks, FUSE mounts, system services, raw network access or packet capture, the device's own CPU, load and network counters, System V shared memory, or a desktop session of their own. What Breadstick cannot do has the details, and About the catalog explains where everything here comes from.
