elinks in Breadstick

Breadstick runs Debian's own elinks package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so elinks should look and behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is an interactive program that runs inside a terminal rather than in a window of its own: in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.

Commands in the package

  • elinks

Type it in Breadstick's Terminal to start the program.

Terminal web browsers run inside Breadstick's Terminal and use Android's own network connection, a VPN connected in Android included. More in the docs: The Terminal.

About elinks

From Debian's package description

ELinks is a feature-rich program for browsing the web in text mode. It is like enhanced Lynx and Links. The most noteworthy features of ELinks are:

  • Lots of protocols (local files, finger, HTTP(S), FTP, IPv4/6 etc.)
  • Internationalized domain names
  • Persistent cookies, HTTP authentication and proxy authentication
  • Tabbed browsing, good looking menus and dialogs, and key-binding manager
  • History browsing and typeahead searches
  • Forms history and completion, and history in commonly used input dialogs
  • CSS support and support for browser scripting (Perl, Lua, Guile etc.)
  • Tables and frames rendering, and configurable color support
  • Compressed and background (non-blocking) downloads, and download resuming

This package is based on elinks fork, since original elinks seems to be no longer maintained.

From Debian's description of the elinks package, under that package's license.
