id3v2 in Breadstick

Breadstick runs Debian's own id3v2 package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so id3v2 should behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is a command line program rather than an app with a window of its own: you run it by typing its command in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.

Commands in the package

  • id3v2

Type it in Breadstick's Terminal to start the program.

Audio and video tools run on the device's processor: Linux apps get no hardware video encoding or decoding, so converting a long video takes a while. Sound plays through the device's own audio output. More in the docs: The Terminal.

About id3v2

From Debian's package description

A command-line tool to add, modify, remove, or view ID3v2 tags, as well as convert or list ID3v1 tags. ID3 tags are commonly embedded in compressed music files such as MP3 and are the standard way to more fully describe the work than would normally be allowed by putting the information in the filename.

From Debian's description of the id3v2 package, under that package's license.
