odt2txt in Breadstick

Breadstick runs Debian's own odt2txt package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so odt2txt should behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is a command line program rather than an app with a window of its own: you run it by typing its command in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.

Commands it gives you

  • odt2txt
  • odp2txt
  • ods2txt
  • odt2txt.odt2txt
  • sxw2txt

Type one in Breadstick's Terminal to run it.

Text and data tools work on files and pipes in the Terminal as on any Linux system, including files in your Android folders once Device files is granted. More in the docs: The Terminal.

odt2txt is a command-line tool which extracts the text out of OpenDocument Texts, as produced by OpenOffice.org, KOffice, StarOffice and others.

odt2txt can also extract text from some file formats similar to OpenDocument Text, such as OpenOffice.org XML (*.sxw), which was used by OpenOffice.org version 1.x and older StarOffice versions. To a lesser extend, odt2txt may be useful to extract content from OpenDocument spreadsheets (*.ods) and OpenDocument presentations (*.odp).

It is small and fast, can output the document in many encodings and adopts to your locale.
