Visual Studio Code in Breadstick
Breadstick note
Breadstick runs VS Code without the Chromium sandbox and with hardware acceleration off, both of which need Linux features Android does not give apps, and sets its password store to basic because there is no system keyring here. Signed in, its Copilot agent runs as an extra process, and every VS Code process counts toward the limit Android puts on apps.
Visual Studio Code is not a Debian package. Breadstick sets up the code package, Microsoft's own ARM64 Linux build, from Microsoft's signed package repository, so it should look and behave as it does on a Linux PC with an ARM processor. On Samsung DeX, Floating mode opens it as its own window beside your Android apps, and Desktop mode runs it on a full Linux desktop.
Compilers and interpreters run on the device's own ARM64 processor, while containers and virtual machines, which need a kernel of their own, cannot run. More about development tools in Breadstick.
About Visual Studio Code
Breadstick's own description
Visual Studio Code is Microsoft's code editor, with built-in Git, debugging and a large extension marketplace. The Development bundle on Breadstick's Recommended apps screen sets it up from Microsoft's own repository, as Microsoft's official ARM64 package, so it updates through apt with the rest of the system.
