entr in Breadstick

Breadstick runs Debian's own entr package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so entr should behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is a command line program rather than an app with a window of its own: you run it by typing its command in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.

Commands in the package

  • entr

Type it in Breadstick's Terminal to start the program.

Workflow tools run inside the Terminal as on any Linux system. There is no systemd, so nothing starts in the background on its own: a job runs while something you started keeps it going. More in the docs: What Breadstick cannot do: the system itself.

About entr

From Debian's package description

The Event Notify Test Runner (entr) runs arbitrary commands when files change. Changes are detected through the kqueue/inotify kernel interface.

From Debian's description of the entr package, under that package's license.
