fish shell in Breadstick

Breadstick note

Type fish in a Breadstick Terminal tab to start it there. fish accepts an autosuggestion with the right arrow key, which is on the key bar above the on-screen keyboard, next to Tab for its completions.

Breadstick runs Debian's own fish package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so fish shell should behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is a command line program rather than an app with a window of its own: you run it by typing its command in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.

Commands in the package

  • fish
  • fish_indent
  • fish_key_reader

Type one in Breadstick's Terminal to run it.

A shell runs inside Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop: type its name there to start it, as on any Linux system. More in the docs: The Terminal.
