lf in Breadstick

Breadstick runs Debian's own lf package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so lf should behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is a command line program rather than an app with a window of its own: you run it by typing its command in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.

Commands in the package

  • lf

Type it in Breadstick's Terminal to start the program.

File tools work with your Linux home folder and, once Device files is granted, with your Android folders, which appear there too. Listing and scanning are much faster in your Linux home folder than in Android's shared folders. More in the docs: The Terminal.

About lf

From Debian's package description

lf (as in "list files") is a terminal file manager written in Go. It is heavily inspired by ranger with some missing and extra features. Some of the missing features are deliberately omitted since they are better handled by external tools.

Features:

  • Single binary without any runtime dependencies (except terminfo database)
  • Fast startup and low memory footprint
  • Server/client architecture to share file selection between multiple instances
  • Configuration with shell commands
  • Customizable keybindings (vi and readline defaults)
  • Preview filtering (for source highlighting, archives, PDFs/images as text)

From Debian's description of the lf package, under that package's license.
