mypy in Breadstick

Breadstick runs Debian's own mypy package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so mypy should behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is a command line program rather than an app with a window of its own: you run it by typing its command in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.

Commands in the package

  • mypy
  • dmypy
  • mypyc
  • stubgen
  • stubtest

Type one in Breadstick's Terminal to run it.

Linters, formatters and language servers run on the device's own processor, and editors on the Linux desktop or in the Terminal can call them as they would on a Linux PC. More in the docs: The Terminal.

About mypy

From Debian's package description

Add type annotations to your Python programs, and use mypy to type check them. Mypy is essentially a Python linter on steroids, and it can catch many programming errors by analyzing your program, without actually having to run it. Mypy has a powerful type system with features such as type inference, gradual typing, generics and union types.

This package provides the command-line interface.
