Not tested on a device yet. What that means
gradle in Breadstick
Breadstick runs Debian's own gradle package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so gradle should behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is a command line program rather than an app with a window of its own: you run it by typing its command in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.
Commands in the package
gradle
Type it in Breadstick's Terminal to start the program.
Compilers and build tools make ARM64 Linux programs on the device itself, with Debian's own toolchain. A big build uses the device's processor and memory, so it takes longer than on a desktop PC, and each parallel job is another process, which counts against the limit Android puts on apps. More in the docs: Troubleshooting: the desktop closes on its own.
About gradle
From Debian's package description
Gradle is a build tool with a focus on build automation and support for multi-language development. If you are building, testing, publishing, and deploying software on any platform, Gradle offers a flexible model that can support the entire development lifecycle from compiling and packaging code to publishing web sites. Gradle has been designed to support build automation across multiple languages and platforms including Java, Scala, Android, C/C++, and Groovy, and is closely integrated with development tools and continuous integration servers including Eclipse, IntelliJ, and Jenkins.
