mosh in Breadstick

Breadstick runs Debian's own mosh package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so mosh should behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is a command line program rather than an app with a window of its own: you run it by typing its command in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.

Commands in the package

  • mosh
  • mosh-client
  • mosh-server

Type one in Breadstick's Terminal to run it.

Network tools use Android's own connection, and a VPN connected in Android covers them too. Anything that needs root, such as capturing traffic or changing the device's network settings, is not available. More in the docs: What Breadstick cannot do: raw network control.

About mosh

From Debian's package description

Mosh is a remote terminal application that supports:

  • intermittent network connectivity,
  • roaming to different IP address without dropping the connection, and
  • intelligent local echo and line editing to reduce the effects of "network lag" on high-latency connections.

From Debian's description of the mosh package, under that package's license.
