python3-pip in Breadstick

Breadstick runs Debian's own python3-pip package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so python3-pip should behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is a command line program rather than an app with a window of its own: you run it by typing its command in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.

Commands in the package

  • pip
  • pip3

Type one in Breadstick's Terminal to run it.

Interpreters and runtimes run on the device's own ARM64 processor, from Debian's own packages. Keep projects in your Linux home folder, which is much faster than Android's shared folders for trees of many small files. Libraries with compiled parts need an ARM64 Linux build, or the tools to build one on the device. More in the docs: The Terminal.

About python3-pip

From Debian's package description

pip is the Python package installer. It integrates with virtualenv, doesn't do partial installs, can save package state for replaying, can install from non-egg sources, and can install from version control repositories.

This is the Python 3 version of the package.

From Debian's description of the python3-pip package, under that package's license.
