Apache Subversion in Breadstick

Breadstick runs Debian's own subversion package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so Apache Subversion should behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is a command line program rather than an app with a window of its own: you run it by typing its command in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.

Commands in the package

  • svn
  • svnadmin
  • svnauthz
  • svnauthz-validate
  • svnbench
  • svndumpfilter
  • svnfsfs
  • svnlook
  • svnmucc
  • svnrdump
  • svnserve
  • svnsync
  • svnversion

Type one in Breadstick's Terminal to run it.

Keep repositories in your Linux home folder, which is much faster than Android's shared folders for their many small files. Version control tools reach remote servers over Android's own network connection, a VPN connected in Android included. More in the docs: The Terminal.

About Apache Subversion

From Debian's package description

Apache Subversion, also known as svn, is a centralised version control system. Version control systems allow many individuals (who may be distributed geographically) to collaborate on a set of files (source code, websites, etc). Subversion began with a CVS paradigm and supports all the major features of CVS, but has evolved to support many features that CVS users often wish they had.

This package includes the Subversion client (svn, svnsync), repository administration tools (svnadmin, svnlook) and a network server (svnserve).
