git-lfs in Breadstick

Breadstick runs Debian's own git-lfs package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so git-lfs should behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is a command line program rather than an app with a window of its own: you run it by typing its command in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.

Commands in the package

  • git-lfs

Type it in Breadstick's Terminal to start the program.

Keep repositories in your Linux home folder, which is much faster than Android's shared folders for their many small files. Version control tools reach remote servers over Android's own network connection, a VPN connected in Android included. More in the docs: The Terminal.

About git-lfs

From Debian's package description

An open source Git extension for versioning large files. Git Large File Storage (LFS) replaces large files such as audio samples, videos, datasets, and graphics with text pointers inside Git, while storing the file contents on a remote server.

From Debian's description of the git-lfs package, under that package's license.
