tig in Breadstick

Breadstick runs Debian's own tig package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so tig should look and behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is an interactive program that runs inside a terminal rather than in a window of its own: in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.

Commands in the package

  • tig

Type it in Breadstick's Terminal to start the program.

Keep repositories in your Linux home folder, which is much faster than Android's shared folders for their many small files. Version control tools reach remote servers over Android's own network connection, a VPN connected in Android included. More in the docs: The Terminal.

About tig

From Debian's package description

This package contains a text-mode interface for the version control system Git. It may be used to browse the history and contents of a repository.

The following main features are supported:

  • View revision logs, commit messages, diffstats, diffs, archive trees and file contents.
  • Visualize revision graphs.
  • Stage / unstage changes and add untracked files.
  • Merge files.
  • Cherry-pick commits.

tig may also be used as a pager. It reads input from stdin and colorizes it.

From Debian's description of the tig package, under that package's license.
