Delta in Breadstick

Breadstick runs Debian's own git-delta package for ARM64, the build a Debian 13 computer with an ARM processor installs, so Delta should behave as it does on a Linux PC. It is a command line program rather than an app with a window of its own: you run it by typing its command in Breadstick's Terminal, or in any terminal window on the Linux desktop, and it needs no Desktop or Floating session running.

Commands in the package

  • delta

Type it in Breadstick's Terminal to start the program.

Keep repositories in your Linux home folder, which is much faster than Android's shared folders for their many small files. Version control tools reach remote servers over Android's own network connection, a VPN connected in Android included. More in the docs: The Terminal.

About Delta

From Debian's package description

Code evolves, and we all spend time studying diffs. Delta aims to make this both efficient and enjoyable: it allows you to make extensive changes to the layout and styling of diffs, as well as allowing you to stay arbitrarily close to the default git/diff output.

This package provides the executable binary /usr/bin/delta.

(Unrelated executable binary /usr/bin/git-delta is in the package git-extras, and unrelated executable binaries /usr/bin/multidelta and /usr/bin/singledelta are in the package delta.)
